Tokoriki Island Resort: Fiji Weddings
Call Now: 1.800.588.3454 (1.800.LUV.FIJI)
Your wedding at Tokoriki is a tailor made day to celebrate your new lives together without the stress, worry or vast financial commitment a wedding at home would incur. With a limited number of wedding celebrations arranged each year, you can be assured of a very special experience at Tokoriki.
Our on site wedding co-ordinator will meet with you after your arrival to create the wedding and honeymoon of your dreams. Imagine a simple barefoot ceremony on the beach at sunset, or for a more elaborate occasion we can arrange Fijian warriors, gorgeous flower girls from the village or an acapella choir.
Tokoriki limits the number of weddings that it accepts each year. This is to ensure the exclusivity and
attention to detail for each couple that marries at the resort. The resort has a number of wedding packages
available, but each wedding service can be tailored to the couple's requirements. Our dedicated
wedding coordinator will assist in planning the wedding with the couple when they arrive at the resort.
Your Stay with us
Although we do not require a minimum stay, we do recommend couples plan to spend at least five nights at the resort. We also recommend having the wedding a minimum of three days after the couple's arrival on the resort. This allows the couple to rest and relax before the wedding and also complies with Fijian Law. We will always try to provide clients with the wedding date of their choice, but this cannot always be guaranteed if the wedding date has already been booked by another party. Please be aware that we are not able to perform weddings on Sundays.
Registration:
While in Nadi it is a requirement that couples go to the local registry office where they will obtain a wedding license. Requirements for a wedding license include ALL of the following:
• Original or certified copy of birth certificates; passports, Decree Absolute documents if divorced; Death Certificate if previous spouse has died; Deed Pole Documents if either party has changed their name; consent of the father if under the age of 21 years for both parties or mother if father is deceased.
• Confirmatory letter on current marital status (“single status certificate” if clients are from Australia, equivalent document for all other countries) to be obtained from marriage Registry where the applicant resides or statutory declaration signed by a Justice of Peace or Notary Public or Solicitor to prove that he/she is currently single.
Valid marriage ages in Fiji are 16 years and above for female and 18 years and above for male.
As required by the District Office, applications from Asian nationals who are named herein: China, Philippines, Pakistan, Korea, and India must apply one (1) month in advance for their marriage licence.
Special Requests
We can also cater for special requests such as Fijian wedding costumes, professional flower arrangements (bouquets), traditional wedding cakes and professional photographers. These
prices are shown as supplements to our wedding package costs.
Wedding Service
A Methodist Minister or celebrant from our local village will conduct the
wedding. If a celebrant is not specifically requested, the Methodist Minister
will officiate the wedding. Whilst the beach is one of the favourite locations,
we are also able to perform services in the main Bure, poolside, deck of
guests’ Bure or Villa or the Tokoriki Wedding Chapel.
Wedding Chapel
Tokoriki Island has a multi denominational Wedding Chapel that is available for wedding services. The chapel is located in the gardens of the resort and features traditional Fijian stonework, stained glass windows, Fijian hardwood floors, high vaulted ceilings and a wonderful tranquil outlook.
