Of all the world perhaps the South Pacific conjures up best the dream of beauty, romance and escape. These islands of the South Pacific invite us to float in their clear waters under an immense sky of blue, put on a mask and snorkel to discover a new world populated with colorful fish and beautiful reefs. Fiji has offered enjoyable family vacationing options for quite some time. The friendliness of the Fijian people along with their love of children offers Moms and Dads (or Mom or Dad!) a fun and unique environment to offer their children, with complete peace of mind. Once you see how wonderful the Fijians are with your kids, you'll want to keep coming back.

Most of the resorts that offered Family Vacations were located along the Coral Coast (between Nadi and Suva) and the Mamanuca Island Group. These options still exist. New resorts (in new areas) and childen's programs have been introduced within the last few years.

 

Castaway Island Resort The Kid's Club at the Castaway Island Fiji provides complimentary service for all children ages three and over during the day and a couple of hours in the evening. Children play games and are given an experience with a definite Fijian flavor.

Jean-Michel Cousteau Fiji Resort The whole family can experience the unique richness of Fiji.  Cousteau Island Resort on Vanua Levu has a fantastic program to not only keep the kids busy but teach them about the ocean, their natural surroundings and the Fijian culture.

Koro Sun Resort Koro Kids Club runs 8am -5pm daily (ages 3 and up.  Tailored to teach the kids about the ecology and marine biology that abounds, as well as introduce them to the Fijian way of life. Complimentary Koro Kids Club (children’s program) for children 3 to 11 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. Included are non-motorized activities and meals. Daily activities include Rainforest hikes, Fijian culture, Fijian arts & crafts, tidal pool exploration, snorkeling (for 7 years & older), t-shirt painting, coconut leaf weaving, and sand village construction.

Malolo Island Malolo Island Resort is located on the island of Malolo in the Mamanuca group of islands. The resort features two pools, one for adults only and one for the kids. The kids pool is located below the adults pool, separated by a waterfall. It has a sand based shallow end, perfect for younger kids. The deeper end is tiled and deep enough for the older kids. Malolo Island offers a Kids Club that operates day and night for that much-needed time alone.

Outrigger on the Lagoon The Takia Kid's Club offers an array of full fun and educational activities. Fijian language lessons, treasure hunts, pool & beach activities, story telling or weaving your own coconut hat, there's plenty to keep your young ones happy & occupied. Specially designed & healthy meals are available for the children. Baby sitting also available for additional charge.

Shangri-La Fijian The Little Chief's Club ... an exclusive club for kids under age 12. Activities to keep your kids occupied while parents relax and enjoy your vacation in paradise: Crab races, boat rides, fish feeding, store telling, sandcastle builidng...

Sonaisali Island Resort Sonaisali has a wonderful children's program suitable for kids of all ages. All children are welcome young or old, as long as they are able to participate without parental supervision. Family values are held dear in Fiji, and caring companions, not simply child minders, look after children.

Turtle Island Resort Although children under 15 are not permitted for most of the year, Turtle does offer popular 'family weeks'. Families with young children will be provided with a local Fijian nanny. Next Family time will be in the summer of 2005 from June 25th through July 16th. There is plenty to keep the kids busy on Turtle, with everything from nature hikes and trips to neighboring islands to windsurfing, kayaking, snorkeling, sailing and horseback riding. In addition, each family is provided with their own Fijian nanny, (whose service is included in the tariff) to allow parents to spend time alone together.

Yasawa Island Resort Children 12 and over are welcome at Yasawa Island Resort all year. Children under 12 are only welcome during Jan 1-31 and Jun 24-July 15.  During this time there is a fun children's program operating with supervised activities and nannies.
